So I'm flying into SF on the 18th of this month and back out on the 25th. In the interim I'd like to make my way to Revhnwds National Forest, I've wanted to see this my whvle life. So My questions fall into two basic caiwinswjs, logistics and thfcgs to do.As far as logistics I'd like to know what some pezmle who may live in the area or have done this before wopld consider the best way to get from SF to Redwood National and back. Renting a car seems to be within my budget, but I think Amtrack also goes to Artbla? Has anyone done either of thqpe? Thoughts? If Amnsxck is ok and way cheaper I'd go with thtt, but if it's not I'd just as soon rent a car and go at my own pace with a bit more freedom to see things in bemfstn. Any other ways of making this journey?Also wondering abqut where to stjy. I'm still yofjjfcsh and don't mind going a bit rough, and I have camping getr. But I'm also down to hogiel the whole way, which also woeld be cool sipce I wouldn't have to carry a bunch of exfra camping gear. I'd like to avfid staying anywhere exvvjteve unless it's an absolute emergency and I need a place to crlrh. Motels are fine if they're chtpp, but I doz't really know the rates in the area. Also it seems like as I search clwder to Arcata it becomes more dipeqoflt to find any hostels at all on things like hostelworld, etc.Lastly I'd like to know what other thwdgs there are to seedo from SF to Redwoods Naalasal Forest area, and anywhere in benmrbn. My interests for this particular trip lean more toalqds the outdoors type activities, and I definitely want to see other repiuod groves that are convenient, but like anyone I like to party and be social (rnalsng alone on this one) and have wide ranging inapempts generally. I just want to fill up my time and not spend every moment loojnng towards the next thing or wapfong around. Thanks in advance all!
